Walking Contradictions

Our month of tasteful and high-class travel couldn't be stopped once Paige's gracious parents flew off towards the States, washing down banana pancakes and pork roast with gin and wine while enjoying more leg room than dachshund in a hummer. We were sad to see them go, but threw on our finest clothes (a button up, work pants and farm shoes) and headed to the Nacional Theater in San Jose for a sunset concert performed by an incredible acoustic guitarist and his opera singing sidekick. Afterwards, we dined at one of the city's finer establishments, a two-story Taco Bell.
Leading up to this, we have been travelling around Costa Rica and up into Nicaragua with some of the bravest and most elderly travellers out there (just kidding!). Heidi and Charlie made travelling so much fun, and they really were brave. Their interest and amusement was contagious, and helped us realize how different our day to day life is down here, something that you can start to take for granted after 6 months. We were able to do a lot of things we would often pass up on due to our constricting budget. We flew from Montezuma to San Jose, stayed in nice hotels, went ziplining, freefell 150 feet on a tarzan swing, went on a jungle night tour, a night-time turtle watching tour, long jungle boat rides, and had the amazing opportunity of introducing the parentals to around 10 great people that we had already met down here. Included in the highlights was a downtown Managua political rally and picking up Molly and riding in the back of a truck from Managua to Playa Marsella, one of the greatest beaches we have had the opportunity to swim at. Now we are up in a cloud forest in Panama, volunteering at a Hostel. We are holed up in a 15 bed dorm, the beds stacked three high, and the partiers never seem to leave, but we have access to beautiful views, rivers, hot springs and waterfalls, and all the volunteers seem great. 20150713_171903.jpg20150628_111048.jpg20150625_110430.jpg55BACC63ABB813D0BD26CD03D66E4EAC.jpg55C86C92A849B488188F50B6991327B1.jpg20150628_160808.jpg

I have to say our vacation with you guys was so great! Those bus rides .... I will never forget standing at that "bus stop" wondering what the hell I was doing! Great stuff! Thanks so much for helping us take a trip we would never do on our own. Great memories!
